It’s been said that nonprofit leadership is not for the faint of heart. Ginny Amendum knows this is true. As president of Thompson Child & Family Focus, a local nonprofit agency that provides treatment, education, and care for at-risk children and their families, she witnesses the sometimes-overpowering needs of these young people firsthand.

“Many of the children have been so hurt and are so fragile, and yet they have this incredible sense of power and possibility,” Amendum says.
